On professionalism

 

Sometimes I think that professionalism is synonomous with the ability to rise above. Being able to see yourself as a part of a bigger entity- rising above personal prestige. Being able to keep your eye on the target and not getting pulled into the emotional mudwrestling of being right and proving others wrong.  Seeing that how you happen to feel might be irrelevant to the situation at hand and rising above your own need for approval and confirmation.
